10 days till departure..what to do in New Orleans

Time is ticking down so quickly and it seems it's only 10 days to go until the adventure begins! New Orleans is one of the places that has held a fascination for me. One too many vampire movies I imagine! I always think of Interview with a Vampire when I think of New Orleans..and the south..who doesn't love True Blood? Here are some of things I am wanting to see in NOLA :)

First of all Beignets! Cafe du Monde is the place to hit up for sugary treats

Plantations-this is Oak Alley Plantation..so Gone with the Wind :)

Speaking of Wind..how about an Airboat ride?

Experience the Voodoo Culture

How do you imagine Mardi Gras when it's not on? Mardi Gras World, of course!

How about a drink in a Carousel themed Bar..Sip and Spin, hehe

Then we are back to food..Shrimp Poboy, yumm

17 days to gooo... Top Deck Tour!

So, Emma and I are both pretty experience travelers..and we wanted to get from New York to New Orleans..do you know what a pain in the butt the flights were? Trains were uber expensive and bus, eh, ain't nobody got time for dat! So, we found ourselves a little trip on Top Deck that goes from New York, via Philadelphia to Washington DC, then onto the Appalachian mountains, Nashville, Memphis and tosses us out at NOLA. There are some super touristy sights on this tour but I am very much looking forward to experiencing a few things!

Philadelphia- A Cheesesteak of course!

Washington DC- The Whitehouse!

Washington Monument

The Capitol @ Capitol Hill

Appalachian Mountains- White Water Rafting

Nashville- Country Music Hall of Fame

Memphis- Beale Street

Memphis-Graceland

Who can resist the allure of Graceland? I still remember watching old movies with Elvis in them, be it surf movies, car racing movies..so fun :)  Top Deck should be an awesome way to get to New Orleans and hopefully meet some people and have some fun.

19 Days and counting! New York anyone?

Hello All, Jas here! And so the countdown continues...our destination after San Fran is New York, the fast paced, sometimes harsh but always interesting destination. Everyone that has gone to New York seems to love it.. I wonder if I (and Emma) will too?

21 Days to Go..San Francisco..
